Pricing FAQ

Pricing, plainly.

What is a credit?+

A credit is the unit we use to meter powered rewrites. A standard Haiku-model rewrite costs 1 credit. A Sonnet-model rewrite (Pro tier, coming soon) will cost 5 credits — Sonnet is roughly 5x more expensive on the model side, so the multiplier protects margin without us having to inflate the subscription price. Local checks (pass-through, secret scan, clarification) are always free and don't burn credits.

What's the difference between credits and rewrites?+

Today every rewrite uses Haiku, where 1 credit = 1 rewrite. On Pro, a Sonnet option for harder prompts is coming soon and will cost 5 credits per rewrite — so 1,500 credits will be 1,500 Haiku rewrites, or (once Sonnet lands) 300 Sonnet rewrites, or any mix.

Is there a free trial on Developer or Pro?+

There's no time-limited trial on paid plans — the Free plan is the free tier and stays free with no card required. You can move between plans any time.

What if I need more than my monthly credits?+

Buy a top-up pack. Developer can buy the 500-credit pack ($8). Pro can buy 500 ($8), 1,500 ($18), or 5,000 ($50). Top-up credits expire 12 months after purchase and are used after your monthly included credits run out. Free users can't buy top-ups — upgrade to Developer instead.

What happens if I hit my monthly limit?+

PrePrompt shows 'Limit reached' on powered rewrites until your next monthly reset. Local checks (pass-through, secret scan) still work. You can buy a top-up to keep going, or wait for the reset. You can always keep using ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini / Perplexity directly.

Can I cancel?+

Yes, any time. Cancel from preprompt.org/dashboard or your Stripe customer portal. You keep paid-tier access until the end of your current billing period, then drop to Free.

Do you offer team or volume pricing?+

Team pilots are available — email hello@preprompt.org for early team pricing (3+ seats, pooled credits, founder support). Public team plans launch after the team workspace and admin dashboard ship.

Will you ever charge for the free tier?+

Not planned. The Free plan is the free tier and stays no-card. If we ever need to change quotas, we'll give existing users plenty of notice.
